After a highly successful summer and fall tourism season in Myrtle Beach that placed the South Carolina destination among the ranks of Orlando, Las Vegas and New York City in terms of visitor demand – as noted by TripAdvisor, Expedia and others – the coastal hot spot is now preparing for a holiday season like no other.
Working together, the City of Myrtle Beach, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) have launched a new “Check My Beach” brochure and web page. Both are designed to provide quick access to water quality information and general beach safety tips.
The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber and CVB is pleased to welcome a new member of the Group Sales Team. Cynthia (Cyndi) Mohr is a South Carolina native born on the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. Cyndi joins the CVB & Chamber with more than 30 years of experience in hotel operations and group sales and conventions, with the primary focus to bring groups to the Myrtle Beach area for meetings and conventions.
A strong performance for the Grand Strand’s hotels, condo-hotels, and campsites during the first half of 2019. So far in 2019, average occupancy for the Center’s voluntary sample of hotel, condo-hotel and campgrounds rented nightly is up by 1.7 occupancy points, or 3.2 percent, compared with the equivalent period of 2018. During the same time, the average daily rate increased by 1.3 percent, raising revenue per available room down by 4.5 percent.

Cocktail Artist, a line of premium mixes and bar ingredients developed by award-winning mixologists, is in search of America’s Best Home Bartender in a Cocktail Mix Off competition taking place in sunny Myrtle Beach this fall.
