During May 2019, a total of 301,923 passengers passed through the Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR), an increase of 15.2-percent compared to May 2018.
At MYR, total passenger traffic during May 2019, which includes enplanements and deplanements, totaled 301,923 compared to 261,986 in May 2018. The number of people arriving on flights, or deplanements, was 153,174 compared to 132,230 in 2018.
“May 2019 was the busiest May on-record for the Myrtle Beach International Airport” said Scott Van Moppes, director of airports. “During the month, our airline partners reported a record breaking 153,000 passengers arriving into our Airport, exceeding last year’s record by almost 16-percent, with each of the nine airlines reporting increased counts. When comparing May 2019 to May 2012, the number of passengers arriving into the MYR has more than doubled. The incredible growth and utilization of the Airport is due to the strength of the entire Grand Strand.”
