The economy along the Grand Strand remains strong and newly released indicators show the trend will continue through the holiday season, according to data compiled by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) and Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).

Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) sees record passenger traffic in June 2021

The Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) continues to see record-breaking passenger counts this summer. In June 2021, the number of people arriving on flights, or deplanements, totaled 230,333 compared to 170,059 in 2019. Total passenger traffic, which includes both arriving and departing passengers, totaled 451,750, a 35.2% increase from 334,340 passengers in June 2019, MYR’s previous best June on record.

In April 2021, the number of people arriving on flights, or deplanements, totaled 108,304 compared to 107,488 in 2019.
