During these times when people are unable to travel, Visit Myrtle Beach is sharing some sunshine to brighten their day. Here are a few highlights of how we’re sharing some sunshine through digital and social media channels, as well as some ways you can share some sunshine too.
New Messaging
Aspirational - dreaming focus
Showcasing space & beauty
Sunrises, Sand, Beaches, Blue Skies
For folks isolated at home...we are sharing some sunshine
Share Some Sunshine Videos
We’ve created several “Share Some Sunshine” videos. Check out the full playlist on YouTube.
PAID DIGITAL & SOCIAL MEDIA
We’re utilizing paid digital to share some sunshine. Digital will reach markets east of the Mississippi with search, display and Facebook advertising.
ORGANIC SOCIAL MEDIA
We’re sharing some Myrtle Beach sunshine via social media channels each day, including going live on Facebook and Instagram when possible. Note that these messages are not promotional. Rather, we want to be inspiring, genuine and helpful to our fans during these uncertain times.
Social Media Objectives
Stay connected and top of mind
Be genuine with real engagement
Share some sunshine
Respond to questions - be helpful
Keep pulse on consumer sentiment
Following are a few examples of what we’ve posted, and you can check our social channels for the latest.
SHARE SOME SUNSHINE PHOTO CONTEST
Using the Flip.to platform, we’re also asking past visitors to help "Share Some Sunshine" and share their favorite Myrtle Beach memory for a chance to win a 2-Night getaway for 2 people including tickets to 1 area attraction and a $50 dining credit and more. Check out the FAVORITE MYRTLE BEACH MEMORIES CONTEST invite.
HELP US SHARE THE SUNSHINE
We encourage our CVB partners to share the sunshine too! We’ve created a Box folder that includes a variety of creative asset that you can use for your own social channels. If you share some sunshine, be sure to use #sharesomesunshine and tag @VisitMyrtleBeach on Facebook and YouTube or @MyMyrtleBeach on Instagram, Twitter or Pinterest.
