Horry County Department of Airports and Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce Announce Southwest Airlines to begin service to Myrtle Beach International Airport

Today, Southwest Airlines announced their intention to serve Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR). According to Southwest CEO Gary Kelly, service will begin in time for summer vacations to the Myrtle Beach area. A specific launch date and destinations will be announced at a future date.

The International Chili Society (ICS), the creators of the World Championship Chili Cook-off (WCCC), has announced a fun, spicy and charitable event for businesses in the Myrtle Beach, S.C. area. The 2021 WCCC Corporate Cup Challenge will be a unique opportunity for members of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and other companies throughout the Grand Strand to show off their passion for chili and charity.

Remembering Longtime Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes

Former Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes died Jan. 16, 2021, after losing his battle to COVID-19. Like many in the Myrtle Beach area community, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce remembers John for his big personality, love for his family and his many contributions to the tourism industry in the Myrtle Beach area.
