The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB will host a National Travel and Tourism Week Update and Celebration on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019 at Doubletree Resort by Hilton in Myrtle Beach. The event is part of the 36th annual National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW), which unites communities across the country to celebrate how travel matters to Amercian jobs, economic growth and personal well-being.

Domestic Showcase Continues to Break Records in Myrtle Beach
Held February 24 – 27 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Travel South Domestic Showcase delegates enjoyed Southern food, networking opportunities, and one-on-one appointments to bring visitors to the South. This year attendees enjoyed a private concert by South Carolina’s own three-time Grammy winner, Darius Rucker! Showcase held at the Myrtle Beach House of Blue’s in Barefoot Landing.

ESPN Events Announces Creation of Myrtle Beach Bowl Beginning in 2020
ESPN Events, a division of ESPN, is adding a new bowl game to its roster beginning in 2020 with the creation of the Myrtle Beach Bowl. The game will feature matchups from three conference partners – Conference USA, Mid-American Conference (MAC) and Sun Belt Conference. Each conference will participate up to four times between 2020 and 2025.

The Grand Strand can’t wait to host this 600-plus person tradeshow this February. The Travel South USA Domestic Showcase will be in Myrtle Beach this February 24-27, 2019. Out of the gates, the Showcase is galloping towards record participation. In just a few short weeks, there have been more than 200 signups for the South's largest marketplace show.

Myrtle Beach welcomes thousands of athletes annually in sports such as track, baseball, softball and basketball in addition to the visitors who come each summer to vacation and take in our beaches and attractions. Ranging from California all the way to Massachusetts, these visitors come from all the corners of the country to the Grand Strand for their summer tournaments and vacations.

CVB group sales and media representatives headed to Toronto, Canada in May to share a taste of Myrtle Beach with Canadians. This mission trip included one-on-one meetings with meeting and incentive planners and media, as well as several events highlighted below. This mission trip is an annual outreach effort to remind this important market why the Myrlte Beach area has been a favorite vacation holiday for Canadians year after year.
