Myrtle Beach Recognized as a Top Family Travel Destination for Summer 2024

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) and Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is pleased to announce Myrtle Beach has been recognized as a Top Family Travel Destination for Summer 2024, according to Google Flights.

Myrtle Beach ranked No. 2 on the travel website’s top five list based on the most searched for destination by family travelers within the United States for travel anytime between June 1 and Aug. 31, 2024. Myrtle Beach was also the only U.S.-based destination on the list.

Google Flights’ Top Family Travel Destinations for Summer 2024:

The list was published by several media outlets, including The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which shared the news in the April 3 article by Ebony Williams titled, “Google’s summer destinations for couples, families and solo travelers.”

STR reports hotel occupancy rates averaging 79 percent during the Easter holiday weekend and spring break travel period from March 29 to April 6, 2024.

  • Sunday, March 31: 63.0 percent (Easter)

  • Thursday, April 4: 82.3 percent

  • Friday, April 5: 90.6 percent

  • Saturday, April 6: 83.8 percent
