On March 13th, 2018, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors sadly accepted the resignation of its President and CEO, Mr. Brad Dean. Brad has decided to accept an opportunity that will be rewarding both personally and professionally.

Jon Borschow, chairman of the newly established Puerto Rico Destination Marketing Organization (“Corporación para la Promoción de Puerto Rico como Destino”), announced on March 14th, 2018 that Brad Dean has been appointed as CEO of the new DMO, effective late April 2018.

“We are very grateful for Brad’s contributions to not only the Chamber, but to the entire community and state of South Carolina,” said MBACC board chair, Carla Schuessler. “Brad has been a tireless leader and dedicated steward to the Grand Strand. He has made an enormous positive impact on tourism in our region and that impact will be felt for generations to come.”

The board has initiated a national search for both a CEO and a Government Affairs Director. Brad will continue in his role at the Chamber for approximately two months while candidates are being sought.
