Myrtle Beach, SC, March 14, 2018 – During February 2018, a total of 97,511 passengers passed through the Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR), an increase of 9.3-percent compared to February 2017.
At MYR, total passenger traffic in February 2018, which includes enplanements and deplanements, totaled 97,511 compared to 89,180 in February 2017. The number of people arriving on flights, or deplanements, totaled 49,561 compared to 45,632 in 2017.
“February 2018 passenger counts are the highest ever for the Myrtle Beach International Airport” said Scott Van Moppes, director of airports. “Our airline partners reported, despite many flight cancellations as the result of winter storms in the northeast, in total they flew 9-percent more passengers at MYR than last February and 13-percent more than the first two month of 2017. Demand for Myrtle Beach, SC and the entire Grand Strand is strong and we are optimistic demand for air service will remain strong as we go in our spring season.”
