Visit Myrtle Beach Group Sales Team Members Earn Designation as Certified Faith-Based Meeting Professionals

Myrtle Beach to host 40 religious event planners this fall

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) and Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is pleased to announce that three Visit Myrtle Beach group sales staff members have achieved a Certified Faith-Based Meeting Professional (CFMP) designation from the Religious Conference Management Association (RCMA).

Bob Harris, executive vice president of group sales; Cyndi Mohr, senior sales manager; and Lori Lampo, group sales manager, were bestowed the CFMP designation during RCMA’s Emerge Conference held in San Antonio, Jan. 9-11, 2024.

The CFMP program requires participants to partake in 12 hours of basic meeting planning education to have a consistent level of professional knowledge with other RCMA members. Certification is valid for five years, at which time, verification of continued involvement in the faith-based event industry is required.

“This accomplishment not only reflects the commitment to professional excellence by our group sales team, but their knowledge of the industry enhances our capability to host meaningful and diverse religious events in the Myrtle Beach area. We welcome these meetings, recognizing their economic benefits as well as their contributions through charitable giving and volunteerism, community engagement, and fostering cultural diversity,” said Karen Riordan, MBACC and CVB President and CEO.

On Sept. 30 – Oct. 2, 2024, Myrtle Beach will host the RCMA Planner Experience where an estimated 40 religious conference planners are set to convene within the Grand Strand to tour the destination’s event venues
