1st Annual Mix Off Competition to be Held October 26 at Tin Roof
On Saturday, October 26, Visit Myrtle Beach, in partnership with Tin Roof Myrtle Beach and Cocktail Artist®, a line of premium mixes and bar ingredients, will host an exciting night of bartending challenges.
Myrtle Beach bartenders will compete in a bartending challenge where each contestant will be paired up with one of Cocktail Artists’ award-winning mixologists as they compete for a grand prize. Also that night, Cocktail Artist will crown their National Champion in the brand’s 1st Annual Mix Off Competition.
Finalists for the National Mix Off Competition are traveling from Georgia, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Virginia to compete in a closed competition at Tin Roof held earlier that day. The Local Bartender Challenge will begin at 8:00 p.m., and swag plus other giveaways will be handed out to guests (while supplies last) who come to watch the bartending challenge.
Local media personality Amy Kawata will emcee the Local Bartender Challenge. Judges include David Goodbread, General Manager RipTydz Oceanfront Grille & Rooftop Bar; Elena King, Marketing Manager Banditos Cantina; Danny Gorman, General Manager Banditos Cantina. Competing for the grand prize in this local competition are Bryan Bomar, Tin Roof; Seth Leonard, Hurricanes Daiquiri Bar and Grill; Jesse VanWagner, Hook & Barrel Restaurant; Gibran Trujillo; Fire and Smoke Gastropub.
Amy Kawata, David Goodread, and Elena King or Danny Gorman will help to judge the closed competition in the morning to determine Cocktail Artist’s National Mix Off Champion.
On Friday, October 25, also at Tin Roof, Cocktail Artist will offer complimentary samples to the first 200 people of their National Mix Off Finalists’ winning entries. The brand invites guests to Tin Roof to try the winning entries and vote for their favorite. The “Fan Favorite” will be announced on Saturday, October 26th during the Local Bartender Challenge.
